Carolina Bonsai Expo Oct. 13th

The North Carolina Arboretum’s annual Carolina Bonsai Expo will be held on Saturday, October 13, and Sunday, October 14, 2018, in the Arboretum’s Baker Exhibit Center and Education Center buildings.

This nationally known event features juried displays by bonsai enthusiasts hailing from a seven-state region, including N.C., S.C., G.a., Ala., Tenn., Va. and Pa. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in bonsai workshops, watch free demonstrations and purchase bonsai plants and supplies.

October Meeting – Saturday Oct. 6th

KBS Members meeting to prepare for the Asheville Carolina Bonsai Expo.

Meeting will be held at Shannon’s from 10am-1pm.  Bring your best tree (cleaned, prepped, moss, stand or mat, accent plant) for display selection.

New members of course always welcome to come to learn more about the art!

Carolina Bonsai Expo Oct.13th

Knoxville Bonsai Society will be entering trees to compete with some of the best in the Southeast!  Come on out and support KBS on Oct.13 from 9am-5pm at the NC Arboretum in Asheville!

October 6th – KBS Meeting to prepare for the Carolina Expo, bring your best tree (cleaned, prepped, moss and stand) to Shannon’s for selection.

Join KBS at the 5th Annual Knox Asian Festival.  We will have 20-30 trees on display in the center of Knoxville’s beautiful Market Square.

KBS Winter Display & 2018 Events

Thanks to everyone who came out to Knoxville Botanical Gardens last weekend and supported the KBS Winter Display!  We hope everyone enjoyed their time and learned more about bonsai.  There was tremendous interest and enthusiasm from all around the Knoxville community, including many new member sign-ups.

KBS Officers and Members would also like to extend thank you to Neil Dellinger Guest Artist, and to Jim Richards and Knoxville Botanical Gardens for letting us using the bldg for the show and their Hospitality.

Tom Duong’s conifer/juniper workshop is on Jan 27th at at Dat’s house from 9 to 6.
Cost is $75.  Please bring:
  • 2-3 trees
  • copper wires
  • tools
An email will go out to KBS members as a reminder…CONTACT US to sign up for emails and membership!
IMPORTANT: Please take your trees that you are planning to bring to the workshop in from freezing and put them in an unheated room/garage/basement.
